Mythic Dev Explains WAR Stats

In the dark on what the stats means? Get full details!
Character stats in just about every game are a complicated mathematical mess and Warhammer Online is no exception. With Patch 1.3 some big changes are happening so now is the time to learn what exactly your stats do and how the patch will effect how your character plays. Mythic developer Adam Gershowitz lays it all out and explains it the nitty gritty of WAR stats.

So we have alot of people speculating on how STR / INT / BS/ TOU work in 1.3 (and even 1.2.1) when compared to each other. As a result I'd like to sit down and clear up a few misconceptions about Statistics so everyone can understand how they work, why we made the changes and give appropriate feedback.

I want to make it 100% clear that the examples I use here are 100% PIGWANK meaning you shouldn't compare these to numbers you see on live or on PTS. They are just easy round numbers we can use for example to better show our players how things work.

Offensive Stats and Defensive Stats "Competing" with each other

In our game offensive stats (STR/INT/BS) have always fought directly against TOU for the amount of bonus damage dealt to a target. In WAR the bonus damage dealt is calculated directly from comparing your ATK stat to your DEF stat. For example

* A Bright Wizard with 900 Intelligence attacks a Chosen with 500 Toughness. The attack bonus for the bright wizard's attack is 400.

* A Chosen with 600 Strength attacks a Bright wizard with 200 Toughness. The attack bonus for the Chosen is 400.

As you can see in this case the Chosen and the Bright Wizard BOTH have exactly the same bonus to their attacks when fighting each other.

The difference now comes to how the bonus applies to the attacks.

Benefits of a Warhammer Online Wik

Wikis are great sites to collaborate information, even for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. There is a ton of information in the world of Warhammer Online; over 20 different scenarios, four thousand quests, thousands of items, NPCs and much more. A War wiki is a great place to centralize that information and build a great informative community to help other players. The wiki relies heavily on the Warhammer Online community to develop its growth and accuracy of information.Every person who visits a Warhammer Online wiki has access to edit, delete and contribute information to improve the content. It is a forever growing entity that continues to be developed by the owners and visitors. Every edit is logged in case of abuse or the previous edit was better and can be reverted. You can see as each page develops and the entire history of how it evolved. Volunteers and staff are required to monitor all the information inputted from the community to assure it meets guidelines and are of quality and not just spam.

If you're unable to find the information you're looking for at the time you visit, you can always check back at a later time or if you found what you're looking you can always share it on the wiki. There is a discussion page on each content page which acts as a forum. You can request for updates, information, add comments or just chat away. You can find direct help from other members as you would on a forum.Without the help of a large community it does become difficult for a wiki to have the most updated information unless they have a large amount of volunteer writers or staffs who contributes to that information as well.

We all know how popular Wikipedia is. They are the world's largest encyclopedia. Their information is great but there are certain topics which are not covered in depth. With a game like Warhammer Online, their world is huge and forever changing. Patches are released approximately twice a month with new content and changes to the current environment.

The three archetypes of Warhammer

WAR boils classes down to three archetypes: tanks, healers, and damage dealers, with the latter archetype coming in a variety of flavors. Each class also has a special mechanic that makes it unique; and this mechanic is often borrowed from a different archetype. My favorite example of this is the Disciple of Khaine, the dark elf healer, whose mechanic, soul reaping, requires the player to engage in melee combat and shred foes with dual swords to build up soul essence, the power used to cast healing magic. Each class has a unique and interesting mechanic that makes playing the class more than just mindlessly filling one archetypal role. New players are immediately greeted with a handful of inaugural quests which, upon completion, guide players to the next area of quest givers.

The game itself plays in the same manner as most MMOs: you move your character around with the keyboard, target things with the mouse, and use the various skills on your command bar. These quests can be, for the most part, completed solo, and, as such, provide the casual ??jump in and play?? backbone of the game. The world is set up in a rather linear manner, with a single main road winding from the starting spot to the final frontier where the highest level players do battle with one another. Players will always receive a quest in each town, after completing the quests in that area, which leads them to the next town, so the questing can continue.

WAR Log: Listening to Heavy

The Empire Knights of the Blazing Sun are the veritable poster children for WAR, while the Dark Elf Black Guards have enough spikes on their armor to serve shishkabab at a Chaos warhost high school reunion. Two new tanks are rolling out to the field of battle in Warhammer Online during a two-week long Heavy Metal event that began yesterday. But to be fair, both look downright gaudy in their peacock-plumage of overlapping metal plates, curvy spikes, and thickened feathers.

But how you get your hands on one of these bad boys, exactly -- that's what's not being made explicit. The press release simply instructs people to "successfully complete the quests associated with the Heavy Metal event" to be given week-early access to the two new classes.enemy players at the Reikland Factory -- a new realm vs. realm scenario opened up especially for this Heavy Metal event -- is the only breadcrumb I've stumbled across. And after playing through Reikland Factory a few times with Pitchfork (scoring 3rd, 4th, and 7th in number of kills -- not bad for being 5th level when 10th level players are on the field, and doubly not bad when there's about 25 people duking it out), I'm still feeling no closer to completing the "quests associated with the Heavy Metal event."

Warhammer: Details about Warhammer Hacks

Warhammer Online Hacks give players the ability to do many things that they neither should nor normally be doing in the game. Warhammer Hacks can do a few major things in the game which if you are found to be using a Warhammer Hack you will be banned. Hacks Warhammer are mainly going to be in terms of things that will alter how the game environment is around you. Then when they attempt to attack you and get that sneak up on you, you can easily get the jump on them and kill them right away. When you can easily see everything on your Warhammer Online Map you have an advantage over other players that can not be compared to.The Warhammer Online Speed Hack. When using these you can now move anywhere in the game.

The last major one would have to be a Warhammer Radar Hack. These give players the ability to see anything in the game. So if you are doing PvP you can see all players hidden or not on the entire map. When you use these teleport hacks correctly you can then complete bosses right away because you can simply put in the cords to where they are then hit a button and instantly be teleported across the game world to where that boss is and kill him real fast thus getting your rewards. Players have been known to combine using Warhammer Online Macros with warhammer Teleportation hack because it will allow them to level very quickly by doing certain mob runs over and over again. Basically when a player uses this it will make them move at speeds they are not suppose to be able to do in Warhammer World. Some times warhammer speed hacks will also effect your fighting and make you attack much faster than you should normally be able to do in the game as well. Some Warhammer Online Private Servers actually will have built in warhammer speed hack because it makes the game a much faster paced style which a majority of hard core players appreciate.
