Guide: WoW BOA Items/Gear and ZG Shoulder Enchants

Since I can not even begin to count how many tells in a bg or on the forums I get asking about where I got my BOA shoulders or how I got that enchant on them, I am going to write an in depth guide on how to acquire them and the best way to farm your rep w/ the Zandalar Tribe. So now all I have to do is make a macro directing people who ask in game to this blog so I don’t have to spend 10 mins getting asked “how do you do that” over and over and over.

Ok for starters you will need a lvl 80 that is on the same account as your twink, no you cannot use your friends 80 to do this nor can you if you rerolled on a different server than your main.

Step One: The first thing you need to figure out is which item you would like, there are two different kinds of Bind on Account (BOA/Heirloom) gear, one is just your regular “pve” gear with stats and +damage or ap, the other set is “pvp” gear and has a bit more stam, lacks stats like agil, int, and spirit and also has resilience on it, which for twinks does really nothing.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING!!!!!!:
You cannot enchant BOA gear with an enchantment that has any kind of restriction. That means the enchant can have no level restriction or reputation requirement(Aldor/scryer, Sons of Hodair, ZG leg/helm enchant, or Inscription enchants)

The BOA items are purchased from two different vendors, the “pvp” gear is bought from the Wintersgrasp vendor. Your faction must be in control of Wintersgrasp in order to see Knight Dameron (alliance quartermaster) or Stone Guard Mukar (horde quartermaster). Buying the Wintersgrasp BOA gear requires Stone Keeper Shards which you can aquire from the following:

Completing Wintersgrasp daily quests
Killing bosses in a lvl 80 dungeon while your faction has control of Wintersgrasp.
The “pve” gear can be purchased in Dalaran from Arcanist Ivrennne if you are alliance and Magistrix Lambriesse if you are horde. Emblem of Heroism are used to purchase this gear and can be acquired from bosses in any Wrath instance on Heroic mode, all that is required to enter a dungeon set to Heroic is that you are level 80.

By now you are probably asking yourself, how am i suppose to know how an item will scale at my twinks level, Wowhead only shows the level 80 stats. The easiest way to see how a piece of gear will scale at your twinks level is to look up the item on Wowhead and at the top right corner right next to the “quick facts” box is a button named “link. Simply click that button and a dialog will pop up with a long url, simply copy that url and paste it IN GAME into your chat window. A message will pop up with the item you linked and all you have to do is simply click the Item and bam, it will show you what that item will scale to at your level.

Ok, so you got your badges or stonekeeper shards and you have purchased a shiny new pair of BOA shoulders, now its time for the fun part, Zandalar Tribe rep!

Step Two(the fun step): Lets talk zg baby, I will go through step by step on how to raise your zg rep, its fairly straight forward and can be done multiple ways, I am going to explain how i did it on my lvl 80 shaman specc’d Elemental.

If you are like me and are 0% neutral with the Zandalar Tribe, it may seem a bit overwhelming to have to grind all the way to exalted, but let me tell you if you ever had to grind for your netherdrake or old Argent Down rep(back at 60), its much easier than those. The main source of your rep will come from destroying bijous and handing in sets of 3 coins at Yojamba Isle, there are also a few quests you can do that will yeild 350 rep, but it requires killing bosses(I will explain why you shouldn’t do that in a sec).

Requirements: You will need to fit one of the following requirements in order to use my method of farming, like I said there are other ways, I found this the most effective.

In order to solo the trash you will need a level 80 character in decent gear(heroic and/or naxx gear), I highly doubt you will be able to solo as a rogue, but any caster/plate dps should have no problem doing it.
You can also run with 1-2 other people, more than 3 people is really inefficient in my eyes but it obviously wont be that detrimental to bring a few other people. Of course its always nice to have one person that can heal, it might be tricky w/o one but its doable with 3 people. I ran a few runs with a prot pally and myself as elemental and we all the trash in about 2 hours tops.
There are 3 specific trash sections that I found to yeild the best drop rate of bijous:

(#5)High Priestess Arlokk: This trash consists of Blood drinkers, Shadow Hunters, and Panthers, the only difficulty about these pulls is that they consist of 4-5 panthers, each of them have a 2 second stun and it can chain between all of them. It takes a little bit of time to kill them all, about 2 mins per pull if you are doing it solo, but its more than doable if you can heal yourself/avoid the chain stuns.
(#8)Jin’do the Hexxer: These trash mobs are very hard to solo, there are 4 mam pulls and 10-12 man pulls, these mobs each do a 1 second stun, interupt casting, and put a nasty curse on you that increases damage done to you by 500. I highly recommend bringing a friend or two to help you, but this trash pack is the best place to grind bijous in the entire instance
(#7)Bloodlord Mandokir: AKA Raptor Boss, this trash is very time consuming to solo and there are a lot of pats walking around which love to aggro to you at the worst possible time. This trash mainly consists of Bloodrinkers and Priests(which have a spell immunity bubble for 8 seconds), at several different points in time you can have two priests healing with the spell immunity bubble up and the blooddrinkers chain healing themselves, like I said its very time consuming and frustrating to kill these pulls alone, I wouldn’t suggest doing it by yourself.
Ok so now you know what trash to pull, if you remember from a previous paragraph I mentioned you should not be killing bosses(at least till the last day before reset). The reason for this is the only way for you to get saved to a raid is by killing a boss, killing trash will not save you. The great part about this is you can enter a new zg without having to reset it, the way this is done is:

Invite someone to group, set it as a raid and go clear all the trash you desire
Instead of having to wait for the trash you reset and you cannon soft reset a raid instance, simpy run out of zg, leave group, and have someone else invite you to a group, set it to raid and bam you have a brand new ZG with all the trash reset=D
Now when you get to exalted with ZG, it takes 15 of the rep tokens to buy a shoulder enchant. All you do is buy it on the character that is exalted, put the enchant on your boa shoulders and mail it back to your character. It took me about 3 days of clearing trash and about another day spamming in trade chan looking for bijous. I paid 10g per bijou and 2g per coin and ended up spending no more than 800g total, so if you are looking to save some cash, dont buy Naxx enchants, buy bijous

I hope this guide helps you on your quest to get some pretty badass shoulders, I am so glad I got it for my priest and although

it might feel like its impossible, it is very doable just takes time like everything else in this game, if you have any questions please feel free to ask, best of luck!
